QUESTION:
I tried to send a question before having an account but am not sure if it was transmitted to you. Thus, I will ask it again: I have a 16-year-old Ingersoll Rand SS5 reciprocating compressor. IR recommends All Season Select synthetic lubricant which is all I have used since purchasing this unit. I have a small woodworking shop in south Texas with temps from 15 F to 110 F with the majority of time the temps are above 65 F. Would your Kompressor MV 46 work and be mu best choice for this unit and work as well as the Ingersoll Rand All Season Select synthetic lubricant.
posted by Duane Koch
ANSWER:
We think you will find the Kompressor oils far superior to any other you have used before. Much longer life, quieter operation and a lot less oxidation. The temperature range is not an issue, works in 140F+ industrials and its used in Alaska, Wyoming, Wisconsin and Canada cold temps.

QUESTION:
My Makita 5200 compressor recommends sae 20 for temps 30 to 76 degrees F. Anything above that sae 30. Will your iso 100 work for this application? What is considered a high pressure compressor?
posted by Steve Caywood
ANSWER:
For the SAE 20, you need our Kompressor 46 and for the SAE 30 the Kompressor 100. Yes, they both will work for what you need. I would have to ask technical what high pressure is but we sell the product to industrial compressors. Our customers include Bosch, Disney (for their parks), Six Flags and many other large factories.

QUESTION:
Trying to figure out which compressor oil to use, a sae 20 or sae 30. All my compressors are indoors but can get down to 40 degrees in the winter and 80's in the summer. Which would you recommend?
posted by Steve Caywood
ANSWER:
Either will work great, as both have a very wide temperature range. The SAE 30 or ISO 100, is thicker and provides better protection for high pressure compressors.

QUESTION:
Hi, I recently serviced our shop air compressor with this oil and notice the air has a smell to it now. It has been serviced in the past with standard 30w non detergent compressor oil and never had an odor. I verified that it’s not overfilled, Any ideas?
posted by Greg Smyder
ANSWER:
It should not have any smell. Our compressor oils are used on a large rang of compressors and are built to not burn. Please contact customerservice@triaxlubricants.com for any issues, as they would be able to answer directly and pass any conversations to our tech department.
